Following the decision of the National Bank of Serbia to revoke the operating licence of ALTA Bank a.d. Belgrade, StandardPrva d.o.o. Bijeljina, in cooperation with Stevanović Law Office, has intensified the operations and activities of its Risk Department, with the aim of providing urgent legal, financial, accounting and tax support to clients who may be affected by the situation.

Particular attention is being devoted to protecting deposits and claims against ALTA Bank, safeguarding the business operations of companies from the Republic of Serbia operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and preventing disruptions in the fulfilment of tax and other financial obligations.

Protection of Deposits and Claims

StandardPrva and Stevanović Law Office invite individuals and legal entities holding funds, deposits or other claims against ALTA Bank to contact them in a timely manner so that their legal position can be assessed.

In cooperation with a partner law firm in the Republic of Serbia, clients will be provided with professional assistance in preparing documentation, exercising their rights to reimbursement of insured deposits, and filing other claims within the statutory deadlines.

Under the regulations of the Republic of Serbia, deposit insurance provides protection of up to EUR 50,000 per depositor at a single bank, for the categories of depositors specified by law. Separate rules governing the recovery of claims apply to funds not covered by deposit insurance.

Protection of Business Operations in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina

A dedicated support programme is intended for companies from the Republic of Serbia that have affiliated legal entities, business units, investment projects, tax representatives or other business activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The inability to access significant financial resources may result in liquidity disruptions, delays in payments to suppliers and subcontractors, difficulties in fulfilling contractual obligations, as well as problems with the timely settlement of taxes and other public revenues.

Subject to client authorisation, the Risk Department is prepared to coordinate activities with business partners, banks, the Tax Administration of Republika Srpska, the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other competent institutions, with a view to identifying lawful solutions that ensure business continuity.

StandardPrva Manages Outstanding Guarantee Exposure Exceeding EUR 100 Million

As a company providing tax representation services to business entities from the Republic of Serbia, StandardPrva currently has total outstanding guarantee exposure exceeding EUR 100 million towards the tax administrations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, arising from guarantees related to the tax representation of its clients.

We emphasise that this amount does not represent any due or unpaid tax debt of StandardPrva, but rather its total outstanding guarantee exposure.

In view of the scale of the obligations undertaken, StandardPrva, in cooperation with Stevanović Law Office, has initiated a preventive assessment of the potential consequences that disruptions in ALTA Bank's operations may have on the liquidity of the represented companies and their ability to fulfil tax obligations on time, as well as on maintaining the financial stability of the StandardPrva Group.

Particular attention is being paid to the maturity of value-added tax (VAT) liabilities, tax representation of foreign legal entities, the application of the special VAT scheme in the construction industry, and maintaining the continuity of investment and infrastructure projects.

StandardPrva's priority is to preserve existing tax representation relationships, protect clients' interests, prevent the emergence of unpaid tax liabilities, and ensure timely management of risks associated with the potential enforcement of guarantees.
